As a Cyber Security Compliance & Assurance Lead, you will ensure our customer complies with cybersecurity policies, regulatory requirements and risk management frameworks. You will collaborate across teams, assess and manage risks in alignment with industry standards and develop strategies to enhance the organisation’s overall security posture. You will play a key role in shaping and executing cybersecurity initiatives, securing the organisation against emerging threats and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This includes horizon scanning for regulatory changes and maintaining solid relationships with industry regulators and peers. The role also integrates security, risk and compliance requirements into the delivery pipeline while fostering a forward-thinking cybersecurity culture.

Please note this role operates in a hybrid model with candidates expected to be able and willing to work from our customer's Dublin office once per week.

Required skills & experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• 7–10 years of experience in cybersecurity assurance, compliance, risk management, or IT governance
• Solid knowledge of cybersecurity regulations, standards, frameworks, and controls (e.g., PART-IS, NIS2, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, GDPR, CIS Controls, Secure SDLC)
• Knowledge with cybersecurity tooling and architectures (e.g., SIEM, EDR, IAM, AWS/Azure)
• Expertise in risk assessments, control validation, and audit principles
• Experience reviewing technical designs, test results, and security controls
• Awareness of securing cloud environments (public, private, and hybrid)
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and risk-based project management methodologies
• Robust management, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to align security initiatives with business objectives
• Ability to assess complex security risks and provide actionable recommendations
• Exemplary problem-solving skills, able to lead resolutions in high-pressure situations
• Deep negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with experience influencing stakeholders
• Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, fostering a security-aware culture and providing expertise in incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations
• Establish and manage robust security assurance processes, including Project Assurance, internal/external audits, and compliance frameworks (e.g., PART-IS, NIS2, NIST CSF, GDPR), ensuring regulatory adherence and risk mitigation
• Define, track, and report key security metrics to drive continuous improvement while aligning compliance efforts with strategic business objectives
• Identify, assess, and manage cybersecurity risks, facilitating informed risk acceptance where full mitigation is not feasible
• Stay ahead of evolving threats and regulatory changes, implementing best practices and engaging with industry forums to enhance security posture
• Strengthen the organization's cybersecurity by developing policies, ensuring they are implemented, and performing regular compliance checks.
• Build relationships with auditors, regulators, and industry peers, ensuring effective collaboration and regulatory alignment.
• Lead initiatives to increase awareness of cybersecurity. Educate stakeholders on security protocols, risk management, and adherence to compliance standards.
• Recognised security and risk management certifications (e.g., PCIRM, CISMP, MoR, CRISC, CISM, CISSP)
• Background in large-scale enterprise security or transformation programmes
