Head of Finance Our client is a privately owned, growth orientated managed security and services provider. They are seeking to appoint this new role to the business to join the senior management team. As Head of Finance youll take ownership of the companys financial operations, reporting, and planning. Youll be a key advisor to senior management, ensuring financial health, compliance, and efficiency while identifying opportunities for growth and cost savings. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong understanding of SME finance. Key Responsibilities: As part of the Senior Management, jointly own objectives, strategies and long-term plans to meet the strategic and financial goals of the business Monitor and manage the financial performance of the business, ensuring accurate and consistent forecasting and quality risk identification / mitigation Lead the development and agreement of annual budgets & departmental financial KPIs Oversee all day-to-day financial operations including accounting, budgeting, cash flow, and payroll. Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts. Produce accurate financial reports and interpret financial data to support strategic decisions. Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors. Monitor key financial KPIs and implement cost control measures. Oversee Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring healthy working capital management. Oversee the Financial Planning Analysis and make recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce cost. Contribute to business strategy, providing financial insight to drive growth and profitability. Implement and maintain robust financial controls and systems Support contract pricing and commercial negotiations with clients/vendors. Candidate Profile: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). 5+ years of experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a similar-sized SME. Strong financial and commercial acumen. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a leadership team Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non financial stakeholders. Strong background in financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting. Advanced computer program skills, such as the ability to write macros in Excel and other financial packages. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environments. Hybrid Working:3 days in the office.
